Going...going...

Well I'm not even going to address why I have been absent from this blog (but certainly not Twitter ) except that I've been blogging in my head and finally have made it back here. Honestly, I've been feverishly working since the other worker that does this work with me left the agency. Glorious 13 cases all to myself and no one (other than my supervisor) to vent with! (That was a sarcastic statement in case you didn't catch it. lol)

So much to catch up on but my brain is honestly fried after this week so here are snippets:

*After 3 years in the field, experienced my first client-yelling-at-me phone call. Yeah- it shakes you up no matter what.
*Had a few weeks of I-know-what-I'm-doing then it quickly went back to shit-I-don't-know-why-I-am-employed.
*Struggled with the decision to go back to graduate school but decided to wait another year as the husband finishes his schooling.
*Discovered a new documenting routine so I'm not so behind on my reports.

In my next post, I hope to address some of the questions in the blog post I received.

Until our next visit,

New BSW

  1. Would you consider elaborating more about the new documentation routine that you mentioned? Documentation is an area I struggle with often as a new BSW,and am curious as to what you have found & if it is working for you. Thanks!

  2. As a young 21 year old who is soon to graduate from college with her BSW, I really appreciate your blog. I am very scared about the next chapter in my life and the fact that I soon will be out in the real world. I can't even wrap my head around it! I keep thinking "Will, I really be able to put all that I have learned to use? Will I be successful as a Social Worker?" By you sharing your experiences it gives me a sense of hope. Yes, starting out may not be the easiest but I can and will get through it! Just like you have shown!

Thanks again for your great blog!
